Rajni wanted to see Velayudham within a few days after watching Ezham Arivu. In fact Surya's wife Jyothika had invited Rajni to see Ezham Arivu. But Rajni wanted to see Velayudham. So a date was fixed for this film to be screened in a preview theatre.

The chemistry between Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya rai worked well in Enthiran the Robot, and also was recieved well with the audience.
